Do you have any tips or tricks for using Dill Doughs™?
We definitely do! Our mixes are designed to be easy to use, but there are a few tips and tricks that can help you get the most out of your baking experience.
- For best results, we recommend preheating your oven before adding the mix to the pan. This will ensure that your bread bakes evenly and rises properly.
- Additionally, we suggest using liquids (soda pop, beer, water) at room temperature when mixing with the dry ingredients.
- Add melted butter on top of your bread dough BEFORE you bake the bread, makes for an extra touch of flavor and moisture. (Note: not all mixes require extra butter on top, if suggested it will be stated on the packaging.)
- Some doughs require a loaf pan, others require you shape the dough and use a sheet pan.
These simple tips will help you get the perfect loaf every time!
Are Dill and Dill Weed the Same Thing?
Dill and Dill Weed do refer to the same herb.
What is commonly referred to as “dill” is actually the plant’s leaves and stems, while “dill weed” specifically refers to the plant’s feathery, fern-like leaves. So while they refer to parts of the same plant, “dill” and “dill weed” do have slightly different meanings.
Dill is used to add flavor to foods such as pickles, fish, and soups. It has a distinctive flavor that is described as slightly sweet and mildly anise-like. Dill weed is the leaves of the plant, while dill seeds can also be used.
